Zero Point Energy

Zero Point Energy is a fascinating concept. Actually the idea is proven, Einstein and others formulated and proved this vacuum energy. But what does that mean?

And how can this actually help us? Is there something like a Free Energy Generator? Can something like that exist? Has the famous and mysterious Nicola Tesla anything to say about that?

In science fiction, there is a lot of talk about Vacuum Energy. In ie. "Stargate Atlantis^®" the crew needs the so called Zero Point Modules to solve the permanent energy crises.

Nikola Tesla, the great inventor of the 20th century, says:

Electric power is everywhere present in unlimited quantities and can drive the world's machinery without the need of coal, oil, gas, or any other of the common fuels

This Vacuum Energy (or Nullpunktenergie [en=zero-point-energy] in the German original) was already described in 1913 by Einstein and Stern and postulates that every system contains energy, even if nothing moves, and even if nothing can be measured at all (at our stage of technology) or if just absolutely nothing seems to be "there".

This is linked to quantum physics, but these I must admit I cannot completely grasp.

But in the end the message is: Everything is full of energy, even if there is nothing.

So even empty space in the vacuum must contain energy.

It seems Tesla had means to use this energy. And it seems that a lot of knowledge about these possibilities is suppressed. Well, no invoices for something completely free, is there?
